Live At The Office
‘Live At The Office’ is a live concert series that is staged in, recorded at and broadcasted from MIC’s Oslo office and in selected locations throughout Norway, resulting in a live format that’s refreshing and paints a new artistic portrait of some of Norway’s finest performers.
Welcome to ‘Live At the Office’ - a live concert series presented by the Music Information Centre Norway and NRK, the national Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. For a series of intimate concerts, MIC invites musicians to perform on an unlikely stage for a live concert; the office. Watch intimate video performances of your favorite Norwegian artist, recorded live at MIC’s Oslo office or in selected locations throughout the country.
Jarle Bernhoft kicked off the concert series with a solo gig at the Music Information Centre Norway’s Oslo office on Tue 8th of February. Bernhoft’s gig was broadcasted live on the national P2 radio station as well as on the broadcasting corporation’s web-TV.
Through MIC’s ‘Listen to Norway’ concert series, the monotonous office ambience is broken by a series of intimate concerts in which the artist sets up shop in between cubicles, photocopiers and stacks of paper and performs in front of a crowd of office workers that has their daily routine pleasantly interrupted by minimalist and stripped-down sets performed by some of Norway’s finest artists and performers.
Having to work in a new and more minimalist setting forces the artists to adjust to a new format, perhaps results in a more rewarding and direct appearance? Judge for yourself; check out strong, entertaining and utterly captivating performances in the office in the videos below:

Pianist Tord Gustavsen has recently released his new ECM album, “The Well”, to international acclaim and raving reviews. On his 5th album on ECM, he completes a format journey from a set trio (3 albums) to a 5-piece ‘ensemble’ (2009 album, “Restored, returned”) and has now included saxophone player Tore Brunborg into the all new Tord Gustavsen Quartet. We met up with him to ask him why he seems addicted to these changes?
