
MIC celebrates the strong Norwegian line-up at the UK’s Cheltenham Jazz Festival with a webcast dedicated entirely to the strong cast of performers that performed at the event in late April. Joining '99 Minutes' presenter Guttorm Andreassen as co-host of the webcast is no other than BBC Radio Three's Late Junction presenter Fiona Talkington.

The Cheltenham Jazz Festival which was staged from 27th April – 2nd May 2011 featured performers and acts such as Susanna, Tord Gustavsen trio and Stian Westerhus. The Cheltenham Jazz Festival also followed previous success of hosting a special collaboration between musicians from Trondheim Conservatory and Birmingham Conservatoire, two of Europe’s most creative jazz institutions.
MIC’s latest ‘99 Minutes’ webcast celebrates the strong Norwegian line-up at the Cheltenham with a playlist that reads as a who’s who of young, contemporary Norwegian jazz: Food, Farmers Market, Beady Belle, Nils Petter Molvær, Stian Westerhus, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra w/ Maria Kannegaard Trio, Paal Nilssen-Love w/Ken Vandermark, Tord Gustavsen Ensemble, Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, Spin Marvel, Masqualero, Nils Petter Molvær, Arve Henriksen, Eple Trio, Elephant9, Zanussi Five and Helge Lien Trio are all parts of a vital mix of improvised and arranged tracks ranging from free improv to groove-fuelled nu-jazz.
