Music sales continue its downward spiral on the domestic market in August.
The latest sales figures from IFPI Norway, including physical and digital units, indicate a 30% drop in music sales on the domestic market in August 2010 compared to the preceding year.
The number of physical units shifted are down 54% compared to August 2009, while sales of digital downloads rose with 68% in the same time frame.
Total accumulated sales in 2010 amount to 3,2m physical units resulting in a NOK 185m turnover. Digital downloads and revenue from streaming services amount to a NOK 86m turnover.
This represents a loss of 16% in value so far this year.
