UK gigs for Animal Alpha

Mid-June sees Animal Alpha heading for the UK for some much anticipated live-action.

Animal Alpha 2008

Mid-June sees hard-hitting outfit Animal Alpha playing UK’s Download Festival in Donington Park in the West Midlands.

Animal Alpha first rose to fame in Norway in 2004 as a result of a series of energetic and highly original concert performances. This in turn, secured them a record deal with Racing Junior and collaboration with producer Sylvia Massy. Massy is known for her unorthodox approaches when recording, and from her work with artists like Johnny Cash, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, System of a Down and many others. The band's debut album, 'Pheromones' was produced at Radio Star Studios outside San Francisco.

Animal Alpha spent most of the festival-summer 2006 and 2007 playing big festivals in Europe such as, Wacken Open Air, Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Mera Luna in Germany, and the Download festival in England to which they will return 15 June 2008.

‘Seeing this band play is like finding a raw diamond in the coal dust, rugged yet beautiful, something to treasure, yet it can slice through steel with little effort. Agnete’s lyrics are unexpected, brash, sultry, nasty, brutally sweet and genuine - she grabs your attention and does not let go. And the band is thrashing away relentlessly behind her.’

- Sylvia Massy Shivy, producer

Animal Alpha’s ‘You Pay for the Whole Seat, but You'll Only Need the Edge’ is out now on Racing Junior.
