Midem 2003

Midem is the music industry’s meeting point No. 1. With more than 11 000 participants, this is one of the Norwegian music scene’s most important international forums. The Norwegian participation has grown steadily over the last couple of years, and the impact is now stronger than ever.

Under the Norway Now! slogan, the Norwegian delegation will again congregate in Cannes January 18-23 to gain new contacts, sign deals, promote artists, attend showcases and showcase the strength of the Norwegian music scene.

Co-ordinating this massive logistical effort is Inger Dirdal of Music Export Norway. Midem 2002, marked a highlight in terms of exposure as Norway was elected to act as host of the 36th edition of Midem. Music Export Norway co-ordinated the impressive opening party in Cannes where the cream of Norwegian bands and DJs performed. The event was a massive media success given the attendance of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, and his presence gave a noticeable boost to the Norway Now! campaign. The Music Information Centre Norway will support Music Export Norway at the Cannes stand, supplying information and profiling on the Norwegian music scene. MIC will be represented with two delegates whose tasks are the same as always: to promote Norwegian music and supply information to all parties with an interest for our music scene.

Those who wish to communicate directly with MICs representatives can find contact info here.
