A-ha to return with new album

Morten, Paal and Mags return with a new album next spring.

The teenage idols from the 80s are set to return with a follow up to their acclaimed comeback-album Lifelines. A-ha are indisputably Norway’s biggest export success ever with millions of albums sold since their smash debut in 1984. Next spring will see the ageing pop monarchs returning with a new studio album.

A-ha are currently in the last phase of their ongoing Lifelines-tour which was launched in support of the acclaimed and successful album of the same name. During their tour, which has covered Europe and Southern America, the youthful fortysomethings have performed for more than half a million A-ha fans. The Norwegian trio have one gig left on their itinerary; Wolfsburg in Germany on Friday 13th of December.

According to a statement made by A-ha manager Brian Lane to the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (nrk.no), the management and band are about to renegotiate the terms of their recording contract with Warner Bros. Germany. Lane also reveals plans of a live concert-recording. Says Brian Lane to nrk.no/musikk: A-ha will return with a new album in the near future – probably next spring. It’ll be a better album than Lifelines, and it’s going to be a real surprise – I’ll promise that. Next year’s going to be even better than this year!
