Music sales continue its downward spiral on the domestic market in May.
The latest sales figures from IFPI Norway, including physical and digital units, indicate a 30% drop in music sales on the domestic market in May 2010.
The number of physical units shifted are down 42% compared to May 2009, while sales of digital downloads rose with 37% in the same time frame.
Total accumulated sales in 2010 amount to 1,8m physical units resulting in a NOK 103m turnover. Digital downloads and revenue from streaming services amount to a NOK 49,5m turnover.
This represents a loss of 20% in value so far this year.
