Solid UK chart performances for Ida Maria

Top Ten on the UK sales charts is fast approaching for Norway’s Ida Maria and her latest single I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked which paves the way for her debut album “Fortress Round My Heart”.

Ida Maria is in the midst of a hectic UK campaign that is beginning to bear fruits; slowly and steadily she is now making way on both radio, singles and album sales charts.

In its second week on the UK album market, Ida Maria’s debut album “Fortress Round My Heart” is performing well on the sales charts, debuting on no. 39. Earlier this year, the album was listed as “Album of the Week” in both Observer and Metro. Q Magazine also fell in love with Ida Maria, describing the artist as “The Strokes fronted by Björk”.

For the third week in a row, Ida Maria’s single I Like You So Much Better When You’re naked continues to climb. The single debuted on no. 18, and climbed from the 16th spot to no. 15 last week.

The Stockholm-based, Northern-Norway bred rock chick entered the UK radio charts last week at no. 23 with I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked, her best performance following five week at Top 50.

Late August sees Ida Maria returning to the UK for a string of live appearances, beginning with a stint at the Reading Festival on August 22nd, followed by gigs at Leeds Festival, Bestival at the Isle of Wight and Sugarhill in Swindon.

November looks set to be a busy month for Ida Maria as she embarks on a 17-date UK tour which begins on the 4th.
