MIC's Listen to Norway series continues with Rune Temte and Ole-Henrik Moe's Herman Wildenvey release
Herman Wildenvey ranks amongst the finest and most important of Norwegian poets from the first halve of the twentieth century.
On this recording actor Rune Temte reads a selection of Widenvey’s poems accompanied by violinist Ole-Henrik Moen. The violin –as well as an occasional saw- is for the most part in dialogue with the words, functioning more as herald and dramaturge than seeking to play with the poems.
The result is a compelling presentation of Wildenvey’s poetry, ironic and amusing as well as profound and moving.
