Annie album on its way

Annie’s much anticipated sophomore album ’Don’t Stop’ gets its release.

Annie - Songs Remind Me Of You

2008 saw Bergen’s chanteuse Annie parting ways with major record label Island Records. The split caused a delay to the planned release of the follow up to 2004’s successful debut ‘Anniemal’ which spawned such hits as Heartbeat and Chewing Gum. Despite the lack of major label support, Annie forged ahead with plans to release her second album this year. Said Annie in a interview earlier this year: "I own the masters, so I can do whatever I want to do. I might do it myself, on my own label. We're talking to people too. There's so much happening in the business right now. In a way, I feel to do things on your own, you're in control. I've always been this sort of artist that people don't know how to categorize me and what to do with me."

‘Don’t stop’ is now finally scheduled for an October 19th release on her own label Totally in co-operation with Norwegian cred indie Smalltown Supersound.

Recorded over the last two years, ‘Don’t Stop’; features what Annie describes as ‘pop with strange edges’, eccentric and quirky but also immediately listenable and utterly beguiling, bridging mainstream and underground on a coherent album.

‘Don’t Stop’ also features a crew of handpicked associates; most notably Timo Kaukolampi and Richard X – co-producers from ‘Anniemal’ – and new collaborators Xenomania, Alex Kapranos from Frans Ferdinand and Paul Epworth (Block Party, Friendly Fires).
