The positive trend on the domestic market continues – sales were up in October.
Amid reports of a dwindling music market comes some positive news from the Association of Norwegian Record Distributors. The latest sales figures from the association show that overall music sales rose 11% in October compared to 2006. These figures includes both physical units as well as digital downloads – sales of physical units were up 14% in October while downloads rose a whopping 99%.
Sales of singles rose unexpectedly with 4% in value while sales of music DVDs increased 66% in value in October.
So far in 2007, 7,8m physical units have been shifted, resulting in a turnover of NOK 477m. Digital downloads account for a NOK 34m turnover. Overall sales so far in 2007 are down 3% compared to last year.
