Lionheart Brothers tour Britain

Drowned in Sound, one of Britain’s most influential music mags, is sponsoring a sizeable UK tour with their favourite Norwegian band the Lionheart Brothers.

Lionheart Brothers

After the January release of their album Dizzy Kiss in Britain, which reaped splendid reviews across the line, The Lionheart Brothers have had a thing for the UK. And the attraction is mutual. Drowned in Sound have declared the psychedelic pop wizards from Trondheim one of their favourite new bands, and now they’re sponsoring the Brothers on a substantial tour of the UK.

The Lionheart Brothers excel in dreamlike, spherical music, where harmonies, dragonfly melodies and layers of luminous sounds float like heavenly-borne magic carpets. But there is more to this music than dream, bliss and dizzy kisses, and what makes so strong and probing is the firm foundation: rock and punk make up very literal roots for the soaring majestic pop. The secret, says the Lionheart Brothers, is the plant-like nature of the music and the band’s aesthetic: ground and air, roots and petals, are equally important, and this makes the music firm and fibery in all its dreamy splendour.

Here are some excerpts from Dizzy Kiss reviews:

"Steep-gradient dreampop and lo-fi loveliness. The bridge between Camden and California."¬

"Trondheim pop masterclass"

"Gorgeous psychedelic pop"

"Motorik beats, fuzz bass and crazy feedback-laced jams...mind-blowing"

"One of the most devastating live bands to fall from Europe in years"

"One of the finest marriages of sixties American psych pop and shoe-gazing indie yet recorded"

"Dreamy psychedelia...breathtaking psych-rock...jaw-dropping"

"Beach Boys harmony pop sounds suffused with the insistent druggy-drone of The Flaming Lips" -DROWNED IN SOUND

On the upcoming UK tour The Lionheart Brothers will share the bill with The Mae Shi and Johhny Foreigner. Following the tour the band has a string of festival engagements on the British Isles, starting with two profiled performances at the important Great Escape festival in Brighton. And as a booster for the summer concerts the Brother’s fantastic ”Hero Anthem” will be released as a UK single on July 14th.
